-- A HARBOR COUNTRY
WELCOME TO DRIFTWOOD INN-UNION PIER
Come explore Driftwood Inn, a 3 bedroom/2 bath home, walkable to beach and town, designed to make memories for your group of up to 8-9 guests. It is located in Paradise Villa, a rare gem of a neighborhood that offers a pebbled pathway leading to the beach. It is safe for children as they have to cross no big streets to get to the beach, and ideal for for those with trouble climbing stairs as it is a single story home.
Property has a Lakeshore Road address but is set back from the actual street. Parking is abundant on Lakeshore and there is a nearby stop sign so drivers are going slow (25mph), and Lakeshore Road is teeming with runners, bikers, walkers all year round and is a perfect street for the 2 adult and 2 children's bikes we leave for you at the house.
The beach is considered a "public" beach (called McKinley Beach) but there is no parking there so it is never crowded. Most of the nearby residents leave their beach chairs at the bottom of the stairs leading to the beach. We leave 4 beach chairs, a beach umbrella, and plenty of beach toys for the kids. The water is very kid-friendly as it has a gradual deepening and oftentimes has a sandbar within swimming distance.
Conveniently located in the popular destination of Harbor Country, Michigan - 1 hr 20 min drive from Chicago or Midway Airport, 3 hr drive from Detroit, 45 min drive from South Bend - 1.5 block walk to the beach, restaurants, and stores.

"We loved the open format and modern upgrades. Neighborhood is cute with a short walk to coffee, ice cream, restaurants, beach, but with the off the grid feeling.”
“We had a lovely stay in this charming cottage nestled in among other charming cottages and a lush garden of ferns and other beautiful vegetation. It was more than expected and perfectly appointed! We enjoyed the area as well - walks to the beach, visiting nearby towns, and eating in good restaurants. It was a very satisfying getaway!”
“My family has been going to Union Pier for years and have rented many houses but the Driftwood Inn really suited our needs the best.”
